Key challenges
Environmental data was scattered across disconnected systems and departments with no central source of truth. Manual reporting took 2-3 weeks per cycle, and there was zero real-time visibility into sustainability metrics. The company had no systematic way to track progress against their ESG commitments.
My role
I owned the entire design process from research through implementation, working closely with engineering and sustainability teams. I also designed a comprehensive component library and design system for the platform.
Process
I audited existing workflows and legacy tools across departments to understand the current state. I conducted 24 user interviews with stakeholders from operations, compliance, and executive teams to capture diverse needs. I mapped user journeys to pinpoint pain points and opportunities, then partnered closely with 3 key stakeholders throughout design sprints.
I built a scalable design system to ensure consistency and regularly presented designs to test users, incorporating their feedback.

I designed automated reporting with one-click generation and customizable templates. The live dashboard featured interactive visualizations and real-time KPI tracking. Smart alerts provided automated goal tracking with progress notifications to keep teams informed. Built-in compliance tools included ESG frameworks with automated scorecards to simplify regulatory requirements.
